This page explains, in plain words, how far you can trust the results on Vriksai, how we test our tools, and what we do when something is wrong.
1. What we promise
We work hard to make every tool and every number on Vriksai correct. We check our formulas by running them and comparing the answers with worked examples from the original sources. But no free website can promise that every result is perfect for your exact job, so please read the rest of this page before you rely on a result.
2. Results are careful estimates
Our calculators give good, well-checked estimates. They are not a replacement for a qualified engineer, a certified grader, or your own judgement on site. Wood is a natural material — two boards of the same species can behave differently. Always treat a result as a strong starting point, not the final word.
3. How we test the tools
Behind the site there is a set of automated tests. Before anything goes live, these tests run each calculator and check its answer against a value worked out separately from published sources — not read back from our own code. If a formula is ever changed by mistake, the tests fail and the change is stopped. A tool is not allowed to say its formula is "verified" unless a test actually proves it.
4. Anything structural needs a professional
Some of our tools touch on load, span, wind and post sizing. These are helpful for planning and learning, but a real building must be signed off by a qualified structural engineer using the codes that apply where you are. Please never build load-bearing work from a website result alone — including ours.
5. When we get something wrong
We are human and mistakes can slip through. When we find or are told about an error, we fix it quickly and on every page it affects. We also update the page date so you can see it was recently checked. We would much rather hear about a problem than leave a wrong number sitting there.
6. How to report a problem
If a result looks wrong, or does not match a source you trust, please tell us and, if you can, point us to the source. We take these seriously and reply. Use our contact page. Reports like these are one of the best ways the site gets better.
