Estimate how long wood must acclimate to its installation environment before fitting. Calculate the target EMC, the MC gap to close, and the days of on-site conditioning needed to prevent post-installation movement.

Acclimation (or conditioning) is the process of letting wood reach moisture equilibrium with its final installation environment before it is fitted. Skipping this step is the number one cause of flooring gaps, cupping, buckling and furniture joint failure. This tool calculates the target EMC for the room, how far the wood's current MC is from that target, and how many days of on-site acclimation are needed.
